2024 UWL Championship Trophy Design

The Underground Whoop League (UWL) is a micro drone racing league that operates nationwide. When the championship race for the 2024 season came around, I was asked to design and 3D print trophies for the event.

I was given the inspiration of a “jewel” for this piece, which shows the diamond form and the beveled edges. The round base with chamfers makes the form look stable while keeping the focus on the top of the trophy.

For the plaque, I drew inspiration from the skyline features of the UWL logo, and used that form to divide the diamond shape in half, the black being building silhouettes and the silver representing sky. The text on each half of the plaque is in the opposite color. I chose to emboss the black text and deboss the silver text for a textured feel.
